Merry Christmas, guys

It's been a terrible year for everybody all around the world

Wasn't different here. Until the end of July.

After that, even in the middle of lonely and isolation, love came back to me.

Suddenly, I'm engaged, full of plans, and more in love than I ever been.

Not everything is perfect but I'm hopeful. And very happy.

I hope love will find a way to your heart too, reader.

Happy holidays

The day after yesterday

I made it, dad. I'm older than you now.
I'm happy and I'm sad.
It's all wrong
It's all right

26.3.18

Thank you, Pearl Jam

It was amazing, as always.
One of the best things about this band is the love for them shared between me, my mom and my brother. It's a family bond.

I lost myself

I've been obsessed with Radiohead for the past 3 days. Over a week, maybe. On the release day of Man of War video I was like wow, but since Friday it's been full time. It all started with this year's Glastonbury gig and fuck...
I should be anxious about the Joshua Tree tour, to which I've got tickets by miracle, but really... all I can hear and think about now it's Radiohead, how their songs move me, and how refined they are, the delicacy, the details...and if I will ever see them live again, how much I wish for a Radiohead tour date ANYWHERE in this country, and that I need a copy the new version of Ok Computer.
Listening to Ok Computer and the Bends again, fuck, so much sadness and dreams and the feeling of a whole new world revealed again,,,
It's true.
Dreamers
they never learn
The damage it's done.
There are two colors in my head.
My heart aches.

a surprise, a sadness, an invitation

I was surprised to see our beautiful beach on The New York Times. There's no fashion or glamour around, our hype is the opposite of that. It's the absence of hype.  I can not see new yorkers wishing for all the peace, spending a whole day drinking beer on the water under the sun doing nothing... but many Americans come to visit every year, it's true.

I love Alter do chão.

If you want to see what Amazon is about, you better do it before is too late. We will disappear pretty soon.

And Alter is hotter and prettier from September to January.

PS: Nobody ever offered saúvas to me.

It finally happened

Last night I went to the Peter Hook and the Light concert at the Webster Hall. In New York.
If you get the Joy Division references in this blog you know how important this is.
Even if it's not really New Order. Or Joy Division. Even if his voice disapears in some songs.
I was so mesmerized by him.
It was great.
I'm gonna try to go again today.

Here I go

I have not finish all the tasks I had before the trip and the guilt is hitting hard, but I managed to overcome something really important that was worrying me for quite a while, so I gonna be happy for that.
Now let's just follow the mantra:
Live the present. Have fun. Be happy.

PS: America please be nice with me :)

I wish you a...

(To keep the tradition of bringing Snoopy and The Peanuts) ;)

What did I learn on the show last night, Craig?

No one lives forever
This business here I've got to finish

Since Craig said he was quitting the LLS all the guests, or at least the ones who appears once a year in the show, said goodbye like the man was retiring or worst, dying.
So last night he said best than any other time he's not giving up on anything, he's moving on.
That's a very difficult thing for the most of us to do, to me especially. I don't know if it's a cultural behavior or just our survival mode screaming, but to "close a door", to end up something always reminds us of death.
But quitting, finishing or ending can be the exactly opposite of death.
Maybe people like Craig can do it with a little bit of more courage and faith than the rest because he once had to quit something infinitely harder: drinking. It took a huge amount of time, pain and nearly everything he had back then, as well described in his biography (which I love!) but he did it. And I believe that beating all that pain and shame can give someone a different perspective of life. A real sense that you're not gonna be here forever so you gotta live right now.
Anyone can and will tell you that many many times in your life: family, friends, teachers, therapists, partners, bosses, TV shows and movies but only in experience we can finally understand it.
To grow up and to live has much more to do with moving than standing at the same place.
So move your fucking butt right now!

I wish you all the best, Mr. Ferguson!

Dear u2

Thank you for answering so fast and for bringing me back so many good feelings and memories today.
It's been a long way alone in the dark. I'm surprised. I'm crying. I'm mesmerized.
"Song for someone" it's already my mantra.
Much much love to you all.

A place called home

For the first time I wonder if there's really a place for me in this world or if I've got here by mistake.
I've spent most of my 34 years wanting to be somewhere else. And now even when I decide to calm down, life keeps changing the plan for me.
Will this next step finally be home?

Thirty-four. I can't believe I still don't have a kid. But sometimes I think is for the best. At least Today it seems a good thing. For the kid.

The mind is a funny thing...

Today I woke up with this song in my mind. It's not only my favorite MJ song but also the one that has marked the most my childhood. I think my mother had it on tape.
Maybe it's because Mother's Day it's this next Sunday, who knows?
So for all the good flashes from the past, here we go.

Oh and one bonus: it's almost Friday.

Wishing you all a merry merry Christmas!
Feliz Natal a todos!

Sunday

Lunching with friends: good music, cold beer, nice weather.
Perfect!

9.10.13

Break

So I moved, going deeper inside Amazon, and still don't have internet access at home. With a bit of luck this problem will be solved by the end of the month... let's hope.
Is everybody ok out there?

23.7.13

Full circle

I'm pretty sure I'll be back here soon...
