Today Bono turned 60 years old.
It amazes me to still remember the day of his birth. Today I barely know the name of new singers or bands I start to listen the songs, but I can tell you by heart that his real name is Paul David Hewson, born May 10th, 1960.
He was my first sex symbol and personal hero in the 90's. I had pictures of him in my wardrobe and notebook (a real notebook, made of paper and written by pen)
By the time he turned 50 any of that felt truth anymore. He had shake hands with too many people and companies and said too much about political and social matters too delicate to me. I could not held the hand of a devil like he does. A few years ago I read somewhere he had said "Bono is tired of Bono." I liked that.
Despite any political difference or disagreement, U2 has always been part of the soundtrack of my life. At some night last week I played some U2's records back to back and I felt happy, I felt at home. I hope to keep feeling like that. With the rest of the band, his voice and lyrics has saved me many times. I hope there's still more U2 albums to come.
The world has changed a lot and very quick lately. The sense of political difference has another scale ever since truth and good lost their meaning. So now, at his 60s and my 40s, I'm happy he's still around, old and doing music, helping people, saying shit and whatever.
You're not on a pedestal anymore but keep banging your drums, Bono. I'm listening.

(A memory came to my mind now: after the last U2 gig I saw, I was in a very crowded bus going back home and a woman on my side said Bono shouldn't talk about politics at the concerts because people were there for the songs. I turned to her and said that if she really thought that then she didn't know anything about U2. Other people on the bus back me up.
Maybe you still are a bit of a hero, babe)

Kitty kitty kitty
I have two cats
I wish I could have at least five.
Actually I live alone with them, so technically I could fill this apartment with cats, but I'm trying to behavior like a normal person until I'm 45. Then fuck it.
They make me laugh, protect me at night and had saved me from depression many times.
Because today it's Cats' day, this is my declaration of eternal love and unconditional devotion to them.

The king of men
The problem about watching Outlander is that Jamie Fraser sets the bar so high it gets more and more difficult to accept reality after each episode.
Sam Heughan is probably the Gilda, or actually the Rita Hayworth of men.

Where were you at 9/11?
Sadly I remember that day more vividly that most of the days of my life.
I have not thought about that day for a while, but tonight it came very strongly in my head.
Maybe because the fear of trouble right now is higher than or similar as it was for the rest of 2001.
I was at work, in my hometown. I was in a internship program. Me and the rest of the team were reading documents from the 18th century and laughing as usual. At the entrance it used to have a TV, someone went out for coffee and came back saying a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center. I had no idea which building was that. Back then the only New York's building I knew by name was The Empire State. We all went to the entrance and the TV showed images from The Twin Tower. That I knew. Then I knew.

Here I go
I have not finish all the tasks I had before the trip and the guilt is hitting hard, but I managed to overcome something really important that was worrying me for quite a while, so I gonna be happy for that.
Now let's just follow the mantra:
Live the present. Have fun. Be happy.
PS: America please be nice with me :)

About this March 15
I wish I could explain what's going on in Brasil right now, but in between some pretty serious and valid point and complains, there's the most absurd suggestions: capital punishment, mass oppression and the establishment of a military dictatorial government.
You can see that some aspects of liberty really offend people who claims to be pro-democracy and freedom: gay marriage, feminism, the rights of indigenous and other traditional communities are constantly denied and today they were again, not by the majority but a considerable part of people had no shame to ask of their repression.
And I can't understand that.

Time to say goodbye
Today HBO airs the final episode of The Newsroom.
And this week is the very last one of Craig Ferguson as the host of The Late Late Show.
I'm sad. There's not many things on TV I feel like watching lately.
I am not in the mood to write about these shows right now but it seemed important to do something to mark the day, so it occurred to me that Jeff Daniels and eventually Emily Mortimer have appeared on LLS in the last three years promoting The Newsroom, so here's a collection of these interviews

Coldplay still got some Magic
I've got to admit to myself I really like Coldplay. It's not the band of my life and in the last albums I had some disappointment, some songs were far from great... but when they are, they are. Just put on repeat and go.
I don't drive and don't have a car since 2010 but songs like this one make me miss driving around the city on weekends, just to listen to music. That was good.
